Originally from Gaza, Palestine, Ahmad Ashour<\/strong> is a researcher and cultural actor. His work lies at the intersection of cultural action<\/strong>, education<\/strong>, and humanitarian response in crisis contexts<\/strong>, with a particular focus on the role of cultural institutions during periods of destruction and disruption.<\/p>\n For several years, he directed the Tamer Institute for Community Education<\/em> in Gaza, where he worked to promote reading, education, and cultural life among children and young people. He also held coordination roles within the French humanitarian organization ACTED. Currently hosted in France through the PAUSE program, he is pursuing his research at the University of Tours<\/strong> within the INTRU laboratory, while studying cultural policy at Sciences Po Grenoble.<\/p>\n ” border_radii=”on|2px|2px|2px|2px” global_colors_info=”{}”]<\/p>\n Originaire de Gaza, en Palestine, Ahmad Ashour<\/strong> est chercheur et acteur culturel. On one hand, I examine cultural life prior to the war, notably the role of libraries, cultural centers<\/strong>, and local initiatives in shaping practices around reading, creation, and critical thinking. On the other, I analyze current transformations within these dynamics, studying both the emergence of a Gazan artistic movement in Europe<\/strong> and the situation of those trapped in Gaza, who face a form of internal exile.<\/strong><\/p>\n By drawing on tools from post-war philosophy, I also analyze questions of identity<\/strong>, institutional discourse<\/strong>, and how forms of censorship<\/strong> emerge and take shape, particularly within children’s literature.<\/p>\n This work contributes to a cultural, intellectual, and institutional reconstruction. It allows me to offer analytical tools to deconstruct the narratives surrounding Gaza<\/strong> and to feed into reflections on cultural policies\u2014drawing inspiration from existing models, particularly in France\u2014to envision, over the long term, the reconstruction of cultural institutions and spaces.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n ” border_radii=”on|2px|2px|2px|2px” inline_fonts=”Titres Pause” global_colors_info=”{}” sticky_enabled=”0″]<\/p>\n Mes recherches portent sur les dynamiques culturelles en contexte de guerre et d’apr\u00e8s-guerre<\/strong>, avec un focus particulier sur Gaza. Je m\u2019int\u00e9resse d\u2019une part \u00e0 la vie culturelle avant la guerre, notamment au r\u00f4le des biblioth\u00e8ques, des centres culturels et des initiatives locales dans la formation des pratiques de lecture, de cr\u00e9ation et de pens\u00e9e critique. D\u2019autre part, je travaille sur les transformations actuelles<\/strong> de ces dynamiques, en \u00e9tudiant \u00e0 la fois la naissance d\u2019un mouvement artistique gazaoui en Europe<\/strong> et la situation des personnes rest\u00e9es coinc\u00e9es \u00e0 Gaza, confront\u00e9es \u00e0 une forme d\u2019exil int\u00e9rieur<\/strong>.<\/p>\n En mobilisant les outils de la philosophie de l’apr\u00e8s-guerre, j’analyse aussi les questions d’identit\u00e9<\/strong>, de discours institutionnel<\/strong> ainsi que la mani\u00e8re dont les formes de censure<\/strong> \u00e9mergent et se structurent, notamment dans le domaine de la litt\u00e9rature jeunesse.<\/p>\n Ces travaux participent \u00e0 une reconstruction culturelle, intellectuelle et institutionnelle.<\/strong> Ils me permettent de proposer des outils d’analyse pour d\u00e9construire les discours produits autour de Gaza et d’alimenter une r\u00e9flexion sur les politiques culturelles, en m’inspirant d’exp\u00e9riences existantes, notamment en France, afin de penser, \u00e0 long terme, la reconstruction d’institutions et d’espaces culturels.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n [\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.23.4″ _module_preset=”default” text_text_color=”#142da5″ text_font_size=”12px” header_font=”||||||||” min_height=”230px” custom_margin=”2px||0px||false|false” custom_padding=”||0px|||” hover_enabled=”0″ content_en_us=”<\/p>\n For me, reconstruction begins with the ability to recreate meaning after a disruption and to restore connections<\/strong>. Culture plays an essential role in this process: it maintains continuity while opening new avenues for thought and creation.<\/p>\n In my experience, it is often simple spaces\u2014like libraries or community centers\u2014that reignite these dynamics. I view reconstruction as both a collective endeavor and a personal commitment.<\/p>\n At my scale, I hope to contribute to rebuilding a democratic and cultural life in Gaza through the research, collaborations, and exchanges I engage in today. I believe it is crucial to keep speaking about Gaza and to support the artists, institutions, and communities keeping this cultural life alive. Dans ce processus, la culture joue un r\u00f4le essentiel : elle permet de maintenir une continuit\u00e9<\/strong> tout en ouvrant de nouvelles pistes pour penser et cr\u00e9er.<\/p>\n Dans mon exp\u00e9rience, ce sont souvent des lieux simples comme les biblioth\u00e8ques ou les espaces collectifs<\/strong> qui permettent de relancer ces dynamiques.
